My superpower is supporting people to build the mindset and confidence they need on their life journey

My superpower is supporting people to build the mindset and confidence they need on their life journey I give gratitude and thanks for having 20 years of experience in Education, Training, and Employment as well as Event Organising. I am excited to use everything I’ve learned to help people realise their potential or what they can achieve. As a career & personal development Coach & Mentor, I get to influence other people’s lives and make a difference by using my skills, resources, and motivational techniques. There comes a huge amount of responsibility, and I find that appealing!

My family comes from Jamaica and it was one of the first to settle in Stoke-on-Trent. I’ve seen it all – racism, complex needs, neurodiversity, mental illness, economic struggles, offending and reoffending. Still, I’ve also seen fantastic transformations, with people going from NEET (not in education, employment, or training) to raising wonderful families. Myself included! This is why helping those in need has always been part of my DNA.
Many people know they could be or do better, but don’t know how to get there. Maybe that’s YOU. That’s where I come in.

Honesty, ongoing communication, and clear goals stand as the foundation of my approach. I want you to become accountable and responsible for your path to success and be conscious of the things holding you back. I would like you to have a look at what you want to achieve and what needs to happen realistically to get there.

In over two decades of work, I’ve done quite a lot to support communities in London, Midlands, Stoke-on-Trent, and even nationally and internationally. My proudest moment was hosting a workshop at the University of West London talking about Education, Career, and Employment. I love working directly with people! I’ve also set up Collab Training Academy CIC, a non-profit organisation, to support communities to get into work or set up their own
businesses. Our projects include

  • the Alternative Career Programme – a fun mix of employability & entertainment
  • It Takes a Village – a series of conferences, networking, and a whole week of opportunities
  • career fairs & networking events
  • employment surgeries for one-to-one and group advice
  • Pathway to Employment Work Experience Programme

We even won the Lewisham Mayor’s Award for our work supporting the South-East London community in 2020!
